What makes SmartJudge different?
Built on the law a court actually applies. Free, private, and genuinely easy to use.
Built on the latest law that matters
SmartJudge doesn’t just search the internet for legal answers
Every assessment starts with Section 25 of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973. This is the law the courts actually apply. It then draws on the leading cases that shape how it’s interpreted to work through your own figures.
Every SmartJudge assessment is anchored to a vetted summary of the leading England & Wales cases. Alongside that, we use a vector database built from The National Archives’ case law to run a ‘nearest-neighbour’ search, surfacing the decided cases most similar to the details you enter as supporting illustrations. A citation guardrail then checks every case against a trusted list before it can appear in your report. Anything it can’t verify is blocked. Others tend to use a general chatbot working purely from a fixed training snapshot so their case-law grounding can go stale.
Your report, no strings attached
Complete the form and your full AI-generated report is yours for free straight away
We don’t follow up with calls, marketing emails or nudges. We won’t contact you unless you reach out to us first.
Most tools like this ask for your email or phone number before showing you anything; some won’t give you a result at all until you hand over contact details.
We make form filling easy
Every question has built-in guidance explaining what it means and why it matters
If you still need help, a chatbot is on hand throughout, and your progress is always visible, so you always know where you are.
Private, minimal, and yours to control
We only ask for what we need
Most tools ask for your name and email address, or other identifying details before you can even see a result. SmartJudge doesn’t. We only ask about your finances; property, income, pensions, debts and needs, because that’s what a court actually weighs.
Names, addresses and account numbers don’t affect the outcome, so we don’t ask for them. That means fewer fields to fill in. If you want to go on to complete a Form E, you can use your data to prefill it. You’ll get more questions, because Form E has more fields. As always, you’re in control.
Confidentiality by design
You don’t have to tell anyone you’re doing this; not a solicitor, not friends or family, and not your spouse. Your information stays with SmartJudge and is never shared with a solicitor or anyone else unless you choose to share it.
From the My Information screen you can turn on faster sign-in using Face ID or your fingerprint (a passkey), and add two-factor authentication - a one-time code from an authenticator app - for extra security around access.
You’re in control of your data
Update any answer at any time. Delete your account and all associated data whenever you choose. Export everything into a clean, shareable report. This is useful for your own records, for sharing with a solicitor, or for giving your spouse the same financial picture.
Change your answers and regenerate your report whenever you like. It’s entirely self-service. There is no need to contact support to change or remove anything.
