How do I add SmartJudge to my phone’s home screen?

SmartJudge runs right in your phone’s browser, so there’s nothing to download from an app store. If you’d like it to feel more like an app, you can add a SmartJudge icon to your home screen. It then opens full-screen with a single tap.

Your progress is saved to your account either way - this just makes it quicker to pick up where you left off. It takes a few seconds, and the steps depend on your phone.

On an iPhone or iPad (Safari)

Open smartjudge.ai in Safari, then:

  1. 1Tap the Share button - the square with an arrow pointing up. It’s in the middle of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone, and at the top on an iPad.
  2. 2Scroll down the list of options and tap Add to Home Screen.
  3. 3Tap Add in the top-right corner. The SmartJudge icon appears on your home screen.

Tip: on iPhone and iPad this only works in Safari. If you use Chrome on an Apple device, see the note further down.

On an Android phone (Chrome)

Open smartjudge.ai in Chrome, then:

  1. 1Tap the menu button - the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  2. 2Tap Install app. On some phones this is worded Add to Home screen instead - either one does the same thing.
  3. 3Confirm by tapping Install (or Add). The SmartJudge icon appears in your app drawer and on your home screen.

Tip: Chrome sometimes shows a small banner offering to install SmartJudge. Tapping that does exactly the same thing as the menu steps above.

Using Chrome on an iPhone or iPad

Chrome on Apple devices uses Apple’s own share menu, so the steps are almost the same as Safari. Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow) in Chrome’s toolbar, then tap Add to Home Screen and confirm with Add.

On a computer

You can do the same on a desktop or laptop. In Chrome or Edge, look for the small install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install SmartJudge. It then opens in its own window, without the usual browser tabs and buttons.

What you get

Once it’s added, tapping the SmartJudge icon opens the site full-screen, so it feels like a normal app. Nothing else changes: you sign in the same way and your answers are saved to your account as you go. To remove it later, press and hold the icon and choose Remove or Delete, just like any other app.
