How do I keep this confidential from my spouse?
Your SmartJudge account is completely private. Nothing you enter here is sent to your spouse, and nothing about your activity shows up in any joint account, shared calendar, or shared device syncing - such as iCloud or a shared Google account - because it all lives under your own separate login.
The main thing to get right is your login, and then a few practical habits if you share a computer or phone with the person you would rather not see it.
Use a login your spouse can’t access
If you sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple, ask yourself whether your spouse has access to any of them. If they do, consider using a different way of logging in. And if they have access to your email, you may want to set up a separate email account - or even use a made-up email - to log into SmartJudge.
One caveat: if you use a made-up email address to log in, we won’t be able to help you recover your account if you ever lose your password, because we have no way to reach you. For more on staying anonymous, see whether you need to share your email address.
A few practical tips if you’re worried about someone seeing it
- On a shared computer, use a private window. Open a private or incognito browser window (Ctrl+Shift+N on Chrome or Edge, Cmd+Shift+N on Mac) so nothing saves to your browser history or autofill.
- Sign out fully when you’re done, especially on a shared or family device. Tap the account icon in the top-right corner and choose Sign Out.
- Turn on extra login security. Adding two-factor authentication or a passkey to your account gives you an extra layer of protection against anyone else signing in. You can set this up from My Information.
- On a phone, check your lock-screen previews. If notifications are set to show a preview on the lock screen, you may want to turn that off temporarily.
